This was actually taken mid morning. As I have mentioned in my previous posts, during my stay at Mt Rainier, the fog was very intense that we hardly glimpse the peak. In this one, the fog does contribute something to the final photo. Also this is a 4 x 5 crop which I feel fits better with the subject matter. via 500px http://ift.tt/1rhOiLl

Palouse Falls Frozen by phillips_chip

This is an older image of Palouse Falls during a deep freeze and after some fresh snow. It was shot some time after the sun had set, so the mood was dark and I tried to keep it that way-best viewed on black for this one. Thanks for looking. Portfolio and services: http://ift.tt/1irFxdJ This is one of my personal favorite images from a recent trip to Mt. Rainier and the Pacific Northwest. After a summer of extreme drought in the Sierra, it was comforting to know that there was some place in the world that still has snow and flowing rivers. I had to do a lot of warping and perspective blending to get this angle, but at least the moon is from the scene and not google images. It's not perfect, and I wish I had a tack sharp exposure for the grass behind the flowers, but I'm still happy with the rest of the image so I thought I'd share.
