for more: http://ift.tt/1pj8rRx Something different from my usual shot. Its different because this was not taken during the sunrise/sunset/golden hour/blue hour time frame. This was actually taken mid morning. As I have mentioned in my previous posts, during my stay at Mt Rainier, the fog was very intense that we hardly glimpse the peak. In this one, the fog does contribute something to the final photo. Also this is a 4 x 5 crop which I feel fits better with the subject matter. via 500px http://ift.tt/1rhOiLl

Castiglione di Garfagnana As the fog clears, we can see the walls (750 meters long with majestic towers) surrounding the town center. A further defense is the fortress, which rises above the roofs of houses and is equipped with an additional three towers, now a private residence The walls enclosing the village of Castiglione and also the two churches: the church of St. Peter and Church of San Michele. The first was founded in 723 by the Lombards Aurimando brothers and Gandefrido: the bell tower was built on the tower of St. Peter dating the '700 was embellished with artwork of Carlo Gibertoni, "the Paliotto of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows". The other church dedicated to St. Michael, patron saint of the Lombards, guards inside a panel painting of Giuliano di Simone da Lucca in 1389 depicting the "Madonna with Child" and a marble ciborium attributed to the school of Matthew Civitali. via 500px http://ift.tt/ZgOV1k

This sunset was simply spectacular! It is one of the best I've ever seen. It had color,drama,depth and layers of interest throughout. The reflection added even more to the image. Please view it on black, it's much nicer Follow me on My Facebook Page Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) is one of two major dunes of the Sahara in Morocco, the other being the Erg Chebbi of Merzouga. This dune is located in the Souss-Massa-Draa area and is located about 50 km west of the rural town of M'Hamid El Ghizlane, itself located about 98 km south of the town of Zagora. With a length of approximately 40 km to 15 km wide, some dunes around a height of 60 m (170 m more than Erg Chebbi), it is the largest and wildest of Morocco. Because it is relatively difficult to access – it is only accessible by 4x4, camel or on foot – Erg Chigaga remains as untouched as Erg Chebbi, which can make for a memorable desert experience. via 500px http://ift.tt/1mIUh03
