"I work with politicians and agencies to ensure that governments around the country understand and appreciate Lyft's unique business model and long-term vision to bring carpooling to every community nationwide. I help manage our 20-person government relations team, set our policy goals, and work with our internal teams to achieve those goals. I love politics, and being able to combine the work I love with a cause I believe in has been an incredible experience."

"The coolest Lyft ride I've had was with this guy who was playing a DJ Jazzy Jeff instrumental album. The entire ride we just geeked out over hip-hop producers. When we arrived at my destination, we swapped artists to check out and he gave me some mixtapes out of his collection."

"I was in a rush to get to work one morning, and requested a Lyft to take me to the office. About halfway through the ride, I learned that my driver was from Thailand, and — what do you know? — I was leaving for a two-week trip to Thailand that weekend!
"At the time, there was a military coup in the country and a strict curfew being imposed, which was unsettling to a first-time visitor. Also, I really didn't want to have to leave the streets of Bangkok at 10 p.m. and retire to the hotel. The driver assured me that the curfew would be lifted by the time I was there. He also spoke of his homeland in such a lovely and endearing way that my excitement for the visit immediately multiplied."

"One of the first times I requested a ride, I was heading out for the night with my best friend and her husband who were visiting from L.A., where Lyft hadn't launched yet. As we were waiting outside, up rolls this car — bright pink mustache, flashing lights everywhere, bumping music. I later learned this was DiscoLyft, one of our first drivers in San Francisco. He has become a legend for his tricked-out Prius and turntable in the trunk. Once we hopped in, we sang and danced the whole ride to dinner — it was a blast. It set the tone for the night, and I had never had so much fun. About a month later, I started working at Lyft!"

"When I finally got matched with Chris of Cookie Wars Lyft, one of the early San Francisco drivers who bakes two batches of cookies each day and has his passengers taste test each of them to vote on a winner. I had read all about Chris in the news, so when I was finally matched with him it felt like I had won the lottery! I tested oatmeal-raisin cookies against the defending champion, salted butterscotch. Salted butterscotch can't be beat — it got my vote."

"I once got into a Lyft Line where another passenger got dropped off at an apartment building that I was trying to move into. I asked him if he had any advice since I wasn't having any luck connecting with the leasing agent. He just so happened to be good friends with her, and he took my contact information. She called me a few days later, and I will be moving in next month!"

"I focus on growing the Lyft passenger community through brand advocates, business development, partnerships, and outreach initiatives. Fun fact: I was one of the first 10 employees at Zimride, the web-based carpool network that our team worked on before starting Lyft in 2012. "
